Your First Look at the Predators Sneak Peek Trailer

by Nix - on Mar 13th 2010

Itching for some “Predators” action about now? You’re in luck, because the sneak peek trailer that we’ve been promised has been posted over at the film’s official site, complete with an introduction by the film’s producer, Robert Rodriguez. Personally I would have liked to just see the trailer without the blabbing, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. Check it out below.

Will Steven Spielberg Direct The Robocalypse??

by endymi0n - on Mar 12th 2010

Daniel H Wilson, author of such lifesaving works as “How to Survive a Robot Uprising: Tips on Defending Yourself Against the Coming Rebellion”, “Where’s My Jetpack?: A Guide to the Amazing Science Fiction Future That Never Arrived”, “How To Build a Robot Army: Tips on Defending Planet Earth Against Aliens, Ninjas, and Zombies” and “The Mad Scientist Hall of Fame: Muwahahaha!” is ratcheting away on his latest opus “Robopocalypse” (due next year), an effort to realistically depict the day when your Roomba starts sucking on more than your dust bunnies.

The Full Length Trailer For The Second Part Of Season One Of Stargate Universe

by endymi0n - on Mar 11th 2010

Here we go with a big, full length trailer for Stargate Universe, one of our favorite shows here at Scificool. What’s to come? Aliens, flooding, Battlestar-ish space battles and an abdication. Seems to be less navel gazing and more running, firm and fully packed, through otherworldly open fields. I stuck through the first tentative episodes of this show and I am really glad I did. New episodes start April 2nd. Thanks Collider.

Big Huge TRON: Legacy Billboard

by endymi0n - on Mar 11th 2010

It’s big, it huge, it’s a full screen light cycle battle billboard from this Decembers “TRON: Legacy”. Is it just me or would everything you own look better with pale blue neon piping?

The new TRON stars Jeff Bridges, Michael Sheen and Olivia Wilde. Will Olivia have pale blue piping? Probably overkill. Thanks Collider.

MythBusters Adam Savage On His Blade Runner Obsession

by endymi0n - on Mar 10th 2010

Mythbusters man of DIY and garage hacker genius Adam Savage has a problem. It’s the same problem I have so I feel his pain. He’s really into “Blade Runner” and especially, really into Harrison Ford’s Blade Runner gun, the finest weapon outside of the light saber in movie history. The difference between Adam and I is he’s got talent and I’m a basement-less and garage-free lame condo dweller with almost no tools. It’s a sad story.

Splice (2009) Movie Review

by James Mudge - on Mar 10th 2010

Since it first started screening at genre festivals a while back, “Splice” has been garnering rabid word of mouth and a reputation for being one of the hottest science fiction/horror tickets for some time. Having gone down particularly well at prestigious gatherings such as Sundance and Stiges, the film has now been picked up for wider distribution, with a summer release slot having apparently been staked out, surely a great show of confidence in its quality.

First Video Look At Monsters

by endymi0n - on Mar 10th 2010

“Monsters” is a potentially nifty looking Sci-Fi treat from former visual effects guy Gareth Edwards about an alien infestation in the area of Mexico. A journalist escorts some American tourists through the contaminated zone and together they get a Darwin award. Or so I’m guessing. I’ve got a video taste here for you and it looks very cool and creepy. Creepy Sci-Fi rules. Thanks Twitch for the snip. Monsters will be showcased at the SXSW film fest with a release date to be determined soon.

Some Predators Inside Juice And Other Sci-Fi Tidbits

by endymi0n - on Mar 10th 2010

I’ve got some little widgets of news for your reading pleasure today. First of all, Alice Braga dishes some on the look of the mighty Predators in the Robert Rodriquez produced and Nimrod Antel directed reboot of same, due out this summer.

On her character and the snaggletoothed enemy:

Bryan Cranston Sheds Some Light On John Carter Of Mars

by endymi0n - on Mar 9th 2010

Bryan Cranston plays a father and chemistry teacher that turns to cooking meth to support his family when he receives what he thinks is a terminal cancer diagnosis in AMC’s Breaking Bad, a show that continues to be just about the best thing on television. Are you watching it? Good.
