“2012″ coming in Nov, looks to be the disaster movie to end all disaster movies. Roland Emmerich, the director, has toyed around in the past with disaster. He has blown up historic buildings of note (Independence Day), overseen the chaotic rampage of a mythical beast (Godzilla) and really, really screwed around with Mother Nature (The Day After Tomorrow).

Will Christopher Nolan’s Next Installment Of Batman Be Shot Entirely In IMAX?
That’s the word on the street this morning. As you may well know, delicious portions of The Dark Knight (The Bank Robbery Scene as an example) were shot in the native Imax format and looked simply stunning. According to Harry at Aintitcool, Mr. Nolan is considering shooting the entirety of the next Batman film in this format.

Fame Director’s Next Will be Sci-Fi Arcana
I’ll admit it, I haven’t a clue how to spell (without copy/pasting) or pronouncing “Fame” director Kevin Tancharoen’s name, so I’m just not going to try it. Anyways, the big news isn’t “Fame”, but his next movie, which he says will be called “Arcana”, which he describes as a cross between “Blade Runner” and “300″.

What do you get when you cross James Cameron’s “Aliens” with Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead”? Try the new Aussie sci-fi actioner “The Dark Lurking”. According to the film’s director Greg Connors, they’re looking at an October/November VOD release for the film in the States, ahead of its eventual DVD release.
