Robert Knepper, recently seen in Heroes as bad guy Samuel Sullivan, has been cast in StarGate: Universe as a Lucian Alliance member. What’s the Lucian Alliance? I have no idea but I’m sure it’ll involve making the crew of the Destiny suffer and so therefore force them to take more steam showers and be filmed at chest level.

He gets into his origin story pretty good and also sheds some nice light on what “Predators” is really all about.
“Battle: Los Angeles”, starring Aaron Eckhart, recounts the tale of one squads hands on and day to day struggles with an invading force of aliens from a planet obviously not as nice as ours. Why they pick L.A. to invade is a little sketchy.
For a TV show that I had great hopes for when I heard about it and followed up on it, “FlashForward” has not exactly met my expectations. In fact, it’s pretty much failed to even keep me interested, which is probably why, though I’ve continued to DVR the new episodes just in case, I haven’t actually watched them yet. Apparently I’m not the only one.
Can’t believe I forgot this, but better late than never: Miguel Sapochnik’s “Repo Men” opens today. Did you see it? The film stars Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Alice Braga, Liev Schreiber, Carice van Houten, and finds Law and Whitaker playing the repo men of the title, except instead of cars, they go after your human organs. It all goes bad for our hero Jude when he becomes one of the people he’s been hunting down. They call that irony.
Some of you out there may remember the teaser for Spike Jonze’s (“Where The Wild Things Are”) old school computer headed romance called “I’m Here”. It made it’s way to Sundance in it’s fullness and now is appearing online in it’s 35 minute glory.
I wasn’t holding my breath for the arrival of the promised or hinted at Star Wars live action television series. The Lucas people are pretty good at keeping secrets and we are hopeful that the time being spent will make for a better product. I had assumed it was a few years away. This may not be the case.

I originally tried to write a traditional review for this new incarnation of “Riverworld”, but found it too difficult. The review just never came together, which happens when I find myself writing about a movie that I neither loved nor hated. “Riverworld” falls somewhere in there. We spoke recently about the Norwegian mother tongue being used extensively (with English Subs) in the prequel to the original, sweet Sci-Fi horror candy, “The Thing”, just about to get filming in British Columbia and Toronto.
Last year, during filming of “TRON: Legacy”, the lucky fellas over at Scifiwire got a chance to sit down with Jeff Bridges to question him on the part he is to play in the digital inner bits of the latest TRON extravaganza. Many questions were asked, but Jeff was cagey and lawyered up frequently. Still, some interesting information was extracted.
The original “The Thing”, starring absolute bad-ass Kurt Russell, was one of my favorite movies of all time. We had paranoia inducing Antarctic isolation, people teetering on the verge of insanity, big bushy beards and that was before the shape changing, human hunting, dog imitating creature from the frozen flying saucer arrived.
I’m not really sure who Captain Future is really. He’s apparently a big whig with the kids over in the U.K. and Europe, or was anyway. I am however a big fan of Christian Alvart after his criminally under appreciated sci-fi horror “Pandorum”, which was a boat load of snappy sci-fi in my humble opinion.
