So Robert Downey Jr. showed up earlier this week at the end of “Castle” to do this little banter thing with “Castle” star Nathan Fillion, the former leading man of Joss Whedon’s “Firefly”. Whedon, of course, directed “The Avengers”, which RDJ stars in as Iron Man. Also, in the week’s episode of “Castle”, Fillion’s “Firefly” co-star Adam Baldwin guest-stars. Head — exploding!!!!
What, another “Star Trek” game? Yup. Though honestly, this teaser trailer for the game (based on the J.J. Abrams movie, obviously) looks more like a “Call of Duty” teaser trailer than something “Star Trek”-y. It’s all action-y and FPS run-and-gun-y.
While James Cameron has no interest in returning to the “Terminator” franchise (at least, for now), he apparently was pulled back in by his buddy Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former Governator has gone back into the acting game, and one of his many projects is a fifth “Terminator” film.
Michael Fassbender plays David, the artificial robot fella in Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus”, and if we know anything about these super human lookalike robots in the future, it’s that they’re destined to freak out on us and start killing people. Hey, it’s what they do, and this viral video celebrating “David’s” birthday is definitely not gonna be changing your mind about that anytime soon.
Haven’t heard about the comic book sci-fi movie “Afterburn” for a while, ever since Gerard Butler and Antoine Fuqua were looking to star and direct, respectively. Apparently Butler stuck, but Fuqua didn’t, because the latest news on the film has “Dead Snow” director Tommy Wirkola signing on to direct.

Once upon a time, Emily Blunt almost ended up playing The Black Widow in “Iron Man 2″ (and again in “The Avengers”). That didn’t really work out, but I always did think Blunt would have made a pretty kickass superhero. Or action heroine. She might get her chance after all, as the trades are saying that Blunt is in talks to join Tom Cruise in Doug Liman’s “All You Need is Kill”.
Sure, some of the animation is a tad wonky (I mean, what, is everyone standing on stilts or something? And what’s up with the long, tentacle-like arms? That’s just creepy, man. Reminds me way too much of Peter Chung’s creepy ass “Aeon Flux” show.), but I guess I can dig it.
Oh, cats. What can’t they do? Well, lots of stuff, especially if they’re fat and lazy, but don’t tell the cats of “Cats in Space” that. These little furballs know how to survive in space. Kinda.
