Because Fox thinks Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” will blow your minds clearly out of your skulls, they’re dropping the trailer (due out tomorrow) in little 30-second snippets filled with the director talking about the movie. Until tomorrow, check out all three 30-second spots below. You do get to see little bits and pieces of the upcoming trailer, so that’s kinda cool.
Two Trailers for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus Trailer
Yes, we’re now posting trailers for upcoming movie trailers. Two, to be exact. Hey, it’s the way the (online movie news) world works nowadays, so get onboard or hop off, fella. Anyways, check them both out below (via Apple). The trailer itself is due out in 3 days, so that’s something to look forward to, right?
New Posters: Prometheus, The Hunger Games, and John Carter of Mars
Lots of sci-fi posters this week, probably because the studios are trying to get all their stuff out there before the Holidays and beat the Christmas break rush. (Got all your gift shopping done yet? No? Get to it, then!)
New Images and Trailer for Guy Pearce’s Sci-Fi Actioner Lock-Out
A new, swanky full trailer and images for the Guy Pearce-starring, Luc Besson-produced sci-fi actioner “Lock-Out”, which may or may not now be going under the more mundane sounding title “MS One – Maximum Security”. Please to enjoy. Via Allocine.
Trailer and Promo Images for the Doctor Who Christmas Special – The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe
So what, this “Doctor Who” Christmas Special takes place outside of “Doctor Who” continuity? Cause the last time we saw the good Doctor, he sure didn’t look ready to save anyone. Whatever the case, check out the trailer for the latest Doctor Who Christmas special, called “The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe”. Gee, I wonder what that’s in reference to?
Michael Bay Back for Transformers 4
He won’t direct. He might direct. No, he won’t. Yes, he will.
That’s according to Vulture, anyway, who says Bay is currently in talks with Paramount to direct the fourth “Transformers” movie, making him the franchise’s only director since its inception in 2007.
Benicio Del Toro Out as Khan in Star Trek 2
But apparently Khan will DEFINITELY be one of the (if not THE) villains in the J.J. Abrams-directed “Star Trek” sequel.
At least, that’s according to Vulture, who says that talks with Del Toro broke down last week, even when everyone (including us) were still reporting Del Toro’s involvement in the sequel. So yeah, we’re looking pretty silly, I guess. But hey, them’s the breaks.
First Trailer for Lockout, aka Taken Meets Escape from New York in Outer Space
Well, if you needed a Snake Plissken to save your daughter, and Snake isn’t available, I guess you could do worst than getting Guy Pearce of “Memento” fame to do the work. That’s basically the premise of “Lockout”, which finds Pearce playing a convict who makes a deal to save the daughter of the President of the United States from a space prison that’s been taken over by the convicts. Maggie Grace, further connecting the film to the whole “Taken” vibe, plays the kidnapped daughter.
