You can add Olivia Thirlby to the cast of DNA Films’ 3D reboot of “Judge Dredd”, which is set to star Karl Urban as the futuristic lawman.
Thirlby, who has the alien invasion movie “The Darkest Hours” coming out in 2011 for producer Timur Bekmambetov (“Wanted”), will be playing Cassandra Anderson (below) in the UK-based reboot of the popular “2000 AD” character.
Anderson is a rookie Judge from the Psi Division who shadows Urban’s Dredd as he goes about Mega-City One delivering justice at the barrel of a gun. Anderson is also a telepath, and is one of the few people who Dredd calls a friend, if grudgingly.
Pete Travis will direct the $45 million dollar film from a script by “Sunshine’s” Alex Garland.
