New V Premiere Scheduled for November 3, 2009

I’ve already reviewed the V pilot when it was shown at Comic Con, and I’ve already made it clear that while I went into the show expecting something mediocre, I instead found myself riveted and after the screening, wanting desperately to see more. Endy already wrote about the show’s new premiere date, but here are more details.

Over at The TV Remote, they have news from the TCA that ABC will premiere the pilot for their new V show on November 3, 2009. The sci-fi show will be taking over the slot currently filled by the reality show Shark Tank. This, says, TV Remote, is the “smarter play”, as it will help V avoid the serialized overflow of shows like Lost, Heroes, and NBC’s own upcoming Day One, all of which are scheduled for the Spring.

Although the early launch will mean V won’t have to compete with Heroes and the like, it will still have to contend with ABC’s own new sci-fi show, Flash Forward. Though to be honest, as intriguing as it sounds and looks to be, I can’t see Flash Forward sticking with audiences. The premise just seems so abstract. Look for the new V to be a hit, though. In its own way, the show is incredibly relevant, given the current sad state of the news media and our current blind hero worship-centric society.
