The missing blond girlfriend is disappointing, but I guess Hollywood’s contract with evil-inc requires at least 1 generic beautiful blond be on each set looking too perky and helpless. Couldn’t trust people wanting to save civilization for other reasons, eh? I can tolerate the accents and generic European beauty for the samurai, at least she kicks butt (unrealistic, but if I watched more than 12min of Xena I know unrealistic fight scenes can be fun). Should be a low-budget show that grows in popularity. Keep Peter Wingfield, he makes it look so good to be bad (if he is really just bad?).

I see this as a good series for SyFy to pick up. Inexpensive to produce (the future and all alternate realities look like B.C., but we’ve come to expect that its either that or Raccoon City, Ontario). It has the type of odd fascination that I associate with shows that get into gear in their first or even second year and become cult favorites. I think they can hit the gen X demographic with this, a good one for electronic sales.
