More Details On The Next Riddick Movie: No School Like The Old School

Vin Diesel will apparently return to the darkness that he loves so much in the next “Riddick” movie.

Io9 has a brief plot teaser that shows Riddick returning to the close in, claustrophobic action that made Pitch Black a great Sci-Fi film. The new Riddick, like the original, likes the dark for the work he’s best at.

IESB is hearing the new Riddick film will be more down and dirty with less “fantasy epic stuff” to deal with. A bounty hunter/space pirate type of story line is expected.

The film will have a capped budget of around $35 million.

Expect an official announcement about the new film after FAST & FURIOUS opens big on April 3.

Subterranean prisons, dark, narrow spaceship corridors echoing with the sounds of arcane machinery and the muffled screams of Riddick’s victims. A winning formula.

Just a queston.. isn’t this the plotline for “Chronicles of Riddick” you know the movie that already came out.. a few years ago?

It does resemble the 2nd movie at first glance. From what we’ve heard though they are going for a first movie feel. Monsters, smaller in scale, etc.

Yeah, endy, Phillip is right, that’s the plot of the second movie. Io9 didn’t read the original IESB article carefully enough, they just slap that thing together blindly.
