Misha Collins on Supernatural’s Apocalyptic Season Finale

Ooooh boy. Things are sure heating up on the CW’s Supernatural, quite possibly the only show on that entire network worth watching. Dean and Sam’s really been torn apart (when your brother starts jonesing for demon blood like some crack alley junkie, things have gone downhill), and the angels seem to be up to no good just as much as the demons. One of those angels is played by Misha Collins, and the actor talked to the LA Times about the show’s Season 4 finale, which is airing tonight.
“Well, things are heating up. Things are getting … in a word, apocalyptic. That would be a good summation. I think there’s going to be a lot of big shake-ups in the finale. There will be death. There will be major character changes. Really, the … is going to hit the fan as far as the apocalypse is concerned. Castiel is going to be struggling with orders — very, very distasteful orders — from the heavenly command. He’s been sort of commanded to do things that are kind of awful. He’s struggling with that. Saying more is, I think, too much.”
Ol Cas has always had a difficult time following orders, so tonight’s season finale shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for him. Maybe he’ll finally break ranks and take us lowly human’s side in the neverending battle against those pesky demons? One can only hope.
Meanwhile, for all you Castiel and Misha Collins fans, the actor has confirmed that he has signed on as a series regular for next year. So yes, that means whatever happens in tonight’s season finale, Castiel will indeed be around very often in Season 5.
