Looks like ABC is getting into the sci-fi business. The network has two shows of note coming out soon that sci-fi fans should pay attention to.
The first is “MILA 2.0″, which will be about “a young woman who discovers that she is a Mobile Intel Life-like Android, Mila, an experiment in artificial intelligence created by the U.S. government and her scientist mother, who kidnapped her when she was found to have human emotions.”
Don’t you hate it when that happens?
Shonda Rhimes, who created “Grey’s Anatomy” (yuck), “Private Practice” (blagh), and “Scandal” (gurg) for ABC, will be overseeing development of the show. Which probably means “MILA 2.0″ will be all girly and shit. But hey, it’s still sci-fi, thus we’ll cover it.
Dave DiGilio will be adapting the show for Rhimes and ABC, based on the upcoming series of books by Debra Driza.
DiGilio, who also wrote “Tron: Legacy”, has also sold the post-apocalyptic drama “Last Hope” to the network. No word on what that one is about, but considering the title and genre, it sounds promising. Maybe.
