Writer’s strike be damned. While the “real” writers were out there protesting, Michael Bay was sitting at home writing the script for “Transformers 2″. Sort of. Bay says he writes all the scripts to his movies, and it’s from that template that the paid writers write the final script from. But never mind that. What does Bay have planned for “Transformers 2″, ass-kicking robot-wise?

Now that the major effects of transforming moving parts have been figured out, Bay has all sorts of new characters in store for the sequel. “When you do your first movie, you break the back of it. Now we can have a lot more fun. We can actually make the depth of these characters more fun and a lot more interesting characters. To see actually what you can achieve visually, you never know. When you go into a movie, you never know visually. I think I’ve got a lot of fun, interesting, funny characters.”
Okay, so nothing about new robots. Eh, he’ll fill us in as the production date for “Transformers 2″ gets nearer. Depending on who you talk to, the film will either get released in 2009 or 2010. I’m going with 2010 myself, but it would be swell to get this thing next year, but I doubt it…
