The Autobots Roll in Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) Movie ImageHe won’t direct. He might direct. No, he won’t. Yes, he will.

That’s according to Vulture, anyway, who says Bay is currently in talks with Paramount to direct the fourth “Transformers” movie, making him the franchise’s only director since its inception in 2007.

So why is Bay directing after saying he won’t be back? Apparently he’s returning because Paramount will then fund a true-life movie called “Pain and Gain” that he has wanted to direct since 1999. That film is about some gym rats in Miami committing some crime, so definitely not something that Bay could sell to studios as a “Bay film”, though you wonder why not, since Bay has made a ton of hits and you’d think he could get anything made. Not so much, as it turns out.

The idea is for Bay to make his “Pain and Gain” movie in early 2012, then jump onto “Transformers 4″ later in the year. That’s the idea, anyway.
