Well, you Jericho fans out there can’t say CBS didn’t give your show a chance. Networks rarely uncancel a show as it is, but they did it with Jericho after fans got riled up enough to engage in a brilliant resurrection campaign, but apparently all the publicity from that didn’t generate enough viewers, because Jericho’s Season 2 return from the abyss, starting with its first two episodes, netted well below average numbers. Result? CBS is set to cancel Jericho yet again, this time, it would appear, for good.
More:
Sources have told SyFy Portal that CBS is gearing up to air the series finale version of the post-apocalyptic series on March 25, one of two endings shot that would either allow a cliffhanger going into a third season, or a proper amount of closure for “Jericho” fans who fought hard to force CBS to reconsider its previous decision to cancel the show.
“There are a lot of people here who really care about what happens to ‘Jericho,’ and I think we all wanted to see it succeed,” the source, who asked not to be identified, said. “Numbers are numbers, and [CBS] had to do what [CBS] had to do.”
I guess some shows are just destined to get cancelled. I actually liked parts of Jericho, but not enough to watch beyond the first couple of episodes in Season 1. There was something about the show that just didn’t work for me.
The Season 2 return was interesting, but again, all that mumbo jumbo about conspiracies just made me roll my eyes. I have enough of conspiracies on TV (like, EVERY friggin’ show has a conspiracy, it seems), thank you very much.
