Live And With Real Humans Star Wars Series Update
Sci-Fi TV News, Star Wars (2010) Series, Star Wars Universe — By endymi0n on September 9, 2009Either the lads at LucasFilm are really taking their time to get things right on the new live action Star Wars series coming sometime in, sometime, or there is just not a ton of passion in the creative team to get this puppy on the air. I am growing dubious, dubious and impatient.
The Examiner has a report from LucasFilm exec Steve Sansweet in which he sleepily responded to The Examiner’s query about the series. Writers have been hired apparently (yawn). Pre Production commences this year with production starting next year some time and an air date in 2012.
I’m of mixed feelings here. Let me elaborate. Do I want an epic multi year Star Wars story set in the reported time line of between the death of Padme and after the Emperor starts cracking heads and dissolving democracy? Do I want to see Jedi on Sith, Force on Force action? Oh please yes master Yoda. Do I want to report the hell out of it, fanboy myself into a crazed frenzy only to let out a Wookie like howl when it sucks? Let’s just skip the whole drama.
But since I reside on the light side of the Force (unlike Nix) I will be forced to be optimistic. However, the dark side has it attractions George. It does indeed. Thanks Aintitcool for the news.

I'd prefer to wait for another 10 years only as long as they get it right.
I have a really bad feeling it won't be what we're all hoping for but fingers crossed.
Since when is waiting NOT an issue when it comes to LFL?
I waited over 20 years for ROTS to see how Vader got into the suit and I'm still alive and healthy. No raped childhood, no whining because I happened to grow up during that time and saw the prequels through the eyes of a 30 something and not a 6 to 12 year old. My kids are doing that.
Who cares if it ultimately sucks? It can't go lower than the worst of the Bantam/Del Rey novels. Jedi turning into hive minded insects? Ben Skywalker going from cold blooded assassin at the age of 13, ashamed of being the son of his parents, to a completely normal boy after having coffee and a chat with his mother one morning?
It would have to suck pretty bad to beat any of that.
