MarketSaw is a great blog to visit if you’re into cutting edge 3D stuff. I’m not a big fan of 3D, but the site is also pretty good for scoops about upcoming interesting films. For instance, they were all over James Cameron’s “Avatar” from the very beginning, and it looks like they’ve gotten a toehold on the sequel as well. On the upcoming “Avatar” sequel, a source has told them that the film will be made “within 4 years”. And the plot?
AVATAR 2 will be full blown war. War is coming – Jim Cameron war that is! We know that Cameron and Landau are taking AVATAR sequels OFF of Pandora and I am working closely with my sources to determine exactly where they will take place.
The idea, it seems, was always to leave Pandora for other parts of the universe, which would make sense. The Na’vi are nice to look at and all (when they’re not shooting you with arrows, that is), but there’s a big ol mess of a universe to explore out there, so why tread the same ground? Imagine what kind of scuffle you can get into when you don’t have to worry about “dying” ala the avatars.
Plus, Cameron being Cameron, he’ll probably want to do something new. You’ve probably already noticed, but ol Jim Cameron loves to do things first.
I see you, James Cameron. Do you see me? Well then put me in the sequel, buddy!
