Chalk up another actor to Peter Berg’s alien invasion on the high seas movie “Battleship”. (At this point, can we stop even pretending this movie has even anything to do with the board game of the same name? Good. Let’s movie on.)
Variety has Neeson (“The A-Team”) playing Admiral Shane, the father of supermodel Brooklyn Decker’s character, who is engaged to leading man Taylor Kitsch’s dashing Naval officer.
Alexander Skarsgard will play another Naval officer and Kitsch’s brother, while R&B singer Rihanna is a Navy babe. They’ll both be helping Kitsch and company fight off an alien invasion, with the planet’s oceans at stake.
Set for a May 18, 2012 release, “Battleship” has already begun shooting on location in Hawaii.
