Lena Headey is Queen Again in HBO’s Game of Thrones

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Having Sean Bean as your gruff hero already made HBO’s Game of Thrones fantasy TV series a must-see, then they had to go and cast another favorite of mine, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from New Amsterdam, and as the cherry on top, Lena Headey from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has joined the cast.

On the show, which will be based on the series of fantasy novels by George R.R. Martin, THR reports that Headey will play Queen Cersei of House Lannister. Headey’s character is the wife of King Robert (to be played by Mark Addy), and sister of twin brother Jaime Lannister (Coster-Waldau) and outsider younger brother Tyrion (Peter Dinkladge).

This is, of course, the second time Headey will be playing a queen onscreen. She was previously Queen Gorgo in Zack Snyder’s Greek actioner “300″. And of course, Headey is coming off the canceled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Game of Thrones will chronicle a battle among seven kingdoms and two ruling families for control of the Iron Throne. Leading man Bean will play the loyal warrior Ned Stark, who leaves his home to serve the king, and find himself wrapped up in royal politics.

Whew. Good thing I kept the 300 wardrobe instead of selling it on eBay!
