Jesse Alexander’s Day One Adds Carly Pope, Three More
Day One TV Series, Sci-Fi TV News — By Nix on March 2, 2009
Maybe getting kicked off Heroes was the best thing that could ever have happened for TV producer/writer Jesse Alexander, whose post-apocalyptic TV show Day One has just been greenlit for a pilot by NBC, and now he’s added four more to his cast. Leading the way is Carly Pope (pictured, left), recently seen (and killed off!) the current season of 24, plus three others, including David Lyons, the show’s male lead, Adam Campbell and Thekla Reuten.
THR has more on their characters:
Lyons will play the male lead, a Marine and an Iraq veteran who is a natural leader. Reuten (”Sleeper Cell”), repped by Innovative and ICA, will play an odd woman who keeps copious notes on other tenants. Pope will play a brilliant young woman who lives with her boyfriend (Campbell), an MIT graduate and computer genius.
Day One revolves the aftermath of an apocalyptic event, with the world’s infrastructure having been annihilated by a mysteries event. A few scattered survivors are forced to make due in the aftermath, and figure out what really happened.
I don’t have a clue who David Lyons is, so finding a picture of him is kind of difficult. It was easier to find a pic of Thekla Reuten, below. She could very well end up being the female lead.
NBC will shoot the pilot, and then wait to see if the ratings are good enough to turn it into a series.
