Jamie Bell Talks Jumper 2

I don’t think there’s any doubt that “Jumper 2″ is coming sooner rather than later. Writer/director Doug Liman has already made it very clear that he wrote the first one with intentions of spinning it off into a trilogy, which may or may not explain why many people complained that the film seemed incomplete or muddled. That, apparently, was done on purpose, as Liman always intended to do more than one more on the subject, and, one presumes, he would explain more in the sequels. Or anyways, that’s the word.

So what about the stars? Jamie Bell recently talked with CHUD, and when asked if he would come back for “Jumper 2″, he said this:

Yesterday I talked with Jamie Bell about his latest film, Mister Foe (known in the UK as Hallam Foe) as well as his career and some upcoming projects (like Defiance, the WWII movie he made with Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber. The best advice Craig gave him, Bell said, was to always keep his head up during action scenes), so I had to squeeze in a question about a possible Jumper 2. The original made some good money, and Fox has made some noise about a sequel. Bell’s character was left alive,if immobilized, at the end of the first film, so I wondered if he’d be up for the sequel.

“Only if it was with Doug Liman,” he said. “I had a really good time with that character.”

CHUD calls it a non-story, and goes to great lengths to make fun of their own story’s non-story (these guys really crack themselves up, apparently), but eh, in case you were interested.

Liman certainly wants to come back, and although reaction to the movie wasn’t all that positive, it still did pretty good business. I would say look for a “Jumper 2″ very soon.
