Material from the set of James Cameron’s “Avatar”, the soon to be new Fanboy religion, is as rare as rain on Arrakis. As the day of the unveiling approaches, James is starting to give us a few looks. He’s been showing footage from the film to the privileged at Comic-con and a few other places. From these showings, all we have are accounts of the action.

In an upcoming issue of Empire, James has been kind enough to show us mere mortals a small glance at one of the aircraft in the film and the heavy metal alien splatting hardware it’s equipped with. Also, in the issue are interviews with James and Sam Worthington.

A quote from Sam from Empire.

“It’s a movie about bullies,” Worthington told us on set. “The humans have come to tear into the Na’vi planet and strip-mine it. We’re telling a story that’s relevant now. It’s filled wtih typical James Cameron messages, especially technology overrunning us all, which is what nearly all his movies are about.

Avatar opens Dec 18th. There will be a sneak peek of Avatar that we’ll all get a chance to oogle on Aug 21st.
