Is X-Files Mania Back?

The Los Angeles Times recently had a reporter at WonderCon last week to cover the “X-Files 2″ panel, and the result was this article, titled: “Fan-ana Republic: The resurrection of ‘X-Files’ mania”. Now I don’t know if “‘X-Files’ mania” is back or not, but I do know that a lot of people who were fans of the show and sort of gave up on it after a while (such as myself) are, in fact, quite excited about the sequel. To be honest with you, I didn’t thin I would be, but as it turns out — yeah, I do miss Scully and Mulder.

A brief excerpt from the LA Times article:

They flew from Germany and England and Chicago to attend. They lined up at 5 a.m. outside the Moscone Center West in San Francisco fueled by contagious group excitement and caffeine. They sat through the boring “Shutter” panel to make sure they got good seats. One attendee estimates that there were 5,000 people packed into the 4,000 capacity convention hall and that’s not including the spillover that ran down the various hallways.

Read the rest of the article. It’s interesting, but I’m still not sure how big of an impact this sequel will make. Will it resurrect Duchovny and Anderson’s movie careers? I hope so, especially Anderson. If those WonderCon pictures proved anything, that is one fine looking FBI agent.
