Well, Shia LaBeouf isn’t coming back, so someone’s gonna have to, right? Plus, when “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” made $400 million in one week, you gotta figure Paramount is already moving on a sequel, with or without Michael Bay directing.

So the question is: who will replace LaBeouf as the new savior of humankind versus the invading alien robots?

According to Showbiz Spy, it could be Jason Statham.

“One of the stars being mentioned is Rosie’s boyfriend Jason Statham,” says a Hollywood insider.

“It’s clear the franchise still has huge potential but with a new leading man capable of taking Transformers in a new, darker direction. Jason could be just the man to do that and his relationship with Rosie would be an added bonus in marketing the movie.”

A “darker” Transformers movie? Don’t know about that. I can’t see you making a movie about invading alien robots from outer space that can turn into cars any “darker” than it already is. I mean, this is essentially a kid’s action movie, right?
