Is Aliens vs. Predator 3 on the Way?
Aliens vs. Predator 3 (2010) Movie, Sci-Fi Movie News — By Nix on December 12, 2007
According to director siblings Colin and Greg Strause, the ending of the upcoming “Aliens vs. Predator 2″ sets up a third installment in the sci-fi franchise. If it does happen, says the Strauses, the battle will be taken to the stars, which would be a good idea because, let’s face it, it’s about time the setting changed a little bit in this series.

“What we’ve kind of told them is, I think, … to us, this is the end of the Earth story,” Colin Strause said in a group interview at the Santa Monica, Calif., headquarters of the Strauses’ visual-effects company, Hydralux, on Dec. 11. “The next one has got to be in space. You know, the way we kind of end this it’s like, ‘We’re kind of done here.’”
Where would that contemplated space-based adventure stand in the Alien timeline? “It would be nice [if] the next one, maybe, [took place just] before [the events in the original] Alien,” Colin said. “But definitely [it] kind of needs to be more of a space epic.”
Hey, I can dig it. Take it into outer space, baby, where it belongs anyway.

The first Aliens movie was definitely a classic. The second with Ripley was also excellent. With Arnold the first Predator was super.
When making these movies, one movie can not conflict with another. Also the Aliens have to maintain their appearance and reputation as the ultimate prey.
It is always challenging to come up with a good story line because both opponents are super big and super strong.
If it is done on a ship, as I understand, this is where the setting will be for the next one, getting the story line to go for three hours may indeed be challenging.
I hope they have extra bonus footage or extra scenes on DVD.
Everything in the story line seems fine to me. Let the writers and directors decide what to happen in the movie. It would be nice to see some of the Predator’s home planet but other then that they should just keep most of the story on Earth but hey I’m not the writer or the director so it’s really not up to any of us but them.
I think taking it into space is the only option. They Made a great combo of the two in AVP. AVPR was a bit of a let down but they can deffinately revive the series by sending the creatures back into space or on a Predator or Alien planet. I think the stories should not coencide with the Alien movies but they can continue the AVP story. The Planet in the first Alien movie doesn’t HAVE to be the ONLY planet inhabited by the Aliens, there could be many more planets. I LOVE Geigers work with Aliens and I think they could use his designs to make the third enstalment badass.
I hope they make a new Aliens Return style of movie with Colonial Marines battling Aliens and Predators on some colony. That would rock so fat. Or if they picked the last sequel of Alien Vs Predator 2 and made it so that the company handling that technology is hunting space in the future with Colonial Marines and that way get right into a another killing field with Aliens and Predators. Another rescue of a civilian colony? This time with a mix of alive civilians, aliens, predators and colonial Marines would give away a lot of chills. See another century gun instalment blowing Aliens into bits would simply be awesome. Androids and other cool stuff returning would also be a great thing. Well pity one is not a filmmaker.
If Fox really wants to make a great alien vs predator movie, they should go get the directory, producer, and writers of aliens 2. That movie is over 20 years old and it still is a kick ass movie even by todays standards. I know money is always a factor and if you can’t make any then usually the movie image suffers. Example, all the alien movies after 2. I have read many of the alien vs. predatory books and they all have a good story line. This should be the first place for the writers to find inspiration. I think they should blast the 3rd movie into the furture on a colonized planet by humans, but hey thats just me. I don’t really know how that would compare to the AVPR movie with the gun and all. Just a thought. I wonder if anybody even reads these comments??
How about revealing about the ‘long-lost’ Space Jockeys?
It would be great if some of those Pilot-beings come back for revenge from ‘the Dark Deep places in Space’… And as it is said that the Predators ’stole’ the Pilot-Technology and many more things… This would be great and perhaps the Origin of Xenomorphs AND the Yautja clan and whatever is related to these franchises might be explained a bit with detail.. EE! I am so excited!!
