The CW is doubling down on superheroes.
The network already has a hit on their hands with “Arrow”, based on the D.C. Comics superhero Green Arrow, and now it looks like they’ll be adding “The Tomorrow People” to their slate. The show will even have ties to “Arrow” in the form of producer Greg Berlanti, who is teaming up with college chum Julie Plec (producer on “The Vampire Diaries”) to develop and produce “The Tomorrow People” for the network.
Based on a ’70s British TV series, “The Tomorrow People” is …
..the story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil.
Basically, “Heroes” + “Alphas”.
The show ran for 6 years in the UK, though I’ve never heard of it. Sounds cool, though.
Here’s the opening theme for the original TV series. It’s nearly two minutes long. I guess TV show intros were way longer back in the day.
