Early next year we will be treated to Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman and Dumbledore himself, Michael Gambon in the eagerly anticipated post apocalyptic tale “Book of Eli”. In the “Book of Eli”, Denzel carries with him, or knows the whereabouts of, something very valuable. Something that can either save humanity or, if it falls into the wrong hands, really mess humanity up.
Someone called Michael Gambon up and asked him if he wanted to be a badass in the desert with Denzel.
“I just like doing the acting,” Gambon said. “Denzel was in the scenes, in my house on the set in Albuquerque, in the desert. We were shooting machine guns—ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch—through the window. My wife gets shot through the neck, and she’s dead. Denzel is in a terrible state. The boys are coming after him to get him. What else can I say about it? We just did a couple of weeks’ work. I just like to work. So if I get a chance to be in a film with Denzel Washington in Albuquerque, shooting a machine gun, who would say no?”
Michael is a wise man. He made the right choice. Book of Eli is directed by the Hughes brothers of From Hell fame. The film also stars Jennifer Beals, Ray Stevenson and Tom Waits. Read what else Michael has to say about his role and how he got it from the friendly folks at Scifiwire.
