There was probably no real chance that FOX wouldn’t pick up J.J. Abrams’ new sci-fi show Fringe, but it’s still good to know that they’ve given the official greenlight to the show after seeing the two-hour pilot from Abrams. The pilot was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and directed by Alex Graves.

The show follows a young female FBI agent who investigates the fringes (hence the title) of the scientific community, and stars Anna Torv, Mark Valley and Joshua Jackson.

For those curious, we posted an early, SPOILER-FILLED review of the show here. It’s not very friendly, but I’ve often found that fanboys aren’t the best people to review new TV shows. Usually they’re very picky and overly bitchy.
