Or possibly a prequel, the way he’s going at it with his “Alien”/not-”Alien” prequel “Prometheus”. Either way, Ridley Scott, Godfather of bleak dystopian futures, has made a firm commitment to taking charge of any future “Blade Runner” properties, agreeing to produce and direct a new installment in the franchise for Alcon Entertainment.
I guess he must have heard that Alcon planned on remaking the film. If only James Cameron would do likewise with the “Terminator” franchise, they would be trying to get that guy from the movie about fast cars to direct “Terminator 5″. Oh well.
Again, no word if Scott’s movie will be a prequel or a sequel. Either way, the fact that Scott is back in the fold is all that matters. Can you imagine someone else doing this? BRRR.
