For a TV show that I had great hopes for when I heard about it and followed up on it, “FlashForward” has not exactly met my expectations. In fact, it’s pretty much failed to even keep me interested, which is probably why, though I’ve continued to DVR the new episodes just in case, I haven’t actually watched them yet. Apparently I’m not the only one.
The show’s recent two-hour return from hiatus scored its lowest ratings yet (down 10% from the show’s all-time low numbers in December) which is a shame as, from what I’ve heard, this particular episode really moved everything along and supplied plenty of answers about the global blackout. The spring premiere brought in 6.6 million viewers (and 1.9 million in the all-important 18-49 demo). For some perspective, consider that the show’s premiere brought in a very solid 12.5 million viewers.
At this point, a second season seems unlikely, though all that could change if the numbers come back.
