First Look at Star Trek 11’s Shuttle, Set

With J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek 11 reboot now shooting, you just knew that spy pictures were going to start flying out fast and furious, and so they have. The latest back of spy pics from the shoot arrived at AICN, and shows what Trek 11’s shuttles were going to look like, as well as some interior shots. Man, they sure look bulky, huh? But then again, I guess that’s the point — remember, this is the early days of Trek we’re talking about here, so it won’t be the sleek look of “Next Generation” or “Voyager”.

Star Trek 11, directed by J.J. Abrams, returns Summer 2009.

IMAGES REMOVED

Sorry, kids, but Paramount finally got around to us. You can still see the images over at IESB. For now. Go get’em while they’re still up.

A laptop is more convincing than their advanced shuttle avionics? Who are you trying to fool, target, children?

A laptop is more convincing that the shuttle avionics. Maybe so, but this actually harkens back to the TOS style of ships. The only problem I had with Enterprise was that the shuttlepods, tricorders, and communicators didn’t look like anything pre-tos. The Tricorders and communicators looked like advanced cell phones. I think their target audience is the old style trek fan, and if this is the shuttle, I’d say he’s doing a good job.
