Here’s your first look at an official image from the upcoming “Tron: Uprising” animated TV series, set to premiere this Summer on Disney XD. Usually I would be all over this bad boy, but come on, it’s on the Disney XD channel. Lots of misunderstandings can develop from me getting caught trolling the Disney channel. I’m just sayin’.
But suppose I wait for the show to come on DVD? Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Anyways, what to expect? For one, “Uprising” will take place between the first “Tron” movie and the most recent sequel, “Tron: Legacy”, and will follow a new character, a program name Beck, voiced by Elijah Wood, as he rebels against The Grid kingpin Clu’s domination.
Expect lots of cool gadgets like the Light Crawler above, as well as some insane stunts, all of which are only limited by the writer’s imaginations since we are talking about animation here.
Mandy Moore and Bruce Boxleitner are also in the cast of the animated series, which, again, debut this summer on Disney XD. Pretend you have kids if you’re caught watching it. In the meantime, here are two previously released trailers for the show.
