Escape From New York Finds Life

The original “Escape From New York” starred bad ass Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken, criminal and scoundrel who is released from his incarceration to rescue the President Of the United States Of America after his plane crashes into Manhatten, now a prison for extreme n’er do wells.

It was really a good movie and well, even bad movies get re-made these days. So, scripts have been tossed around by movie mechanics New Line, Scottish rogues (Gerard Butler) have been attached to star, but we haven’t seen a lot of real movement until, well now. Allan Loeb, writer of “Wall Street 2″, which is apparently pretty nifty, has managed to pull together Snake’s sense of humour into the new script or rewrite without some of the cheese that seemed to permeate previous efforts. Also, instead of the Prez we get a sexy female Senator and a not destroyed New York, just the regular one with walls to save on costs. John Carpenter’s original movie will be hard to beat. Thanks Vulture for the news.
