Eleventh Hour Gets the Axe

Eleventh Hour TV Series, Sci-Fi TV News — By Basil Murad on May 19, 2009 |

The chopping block has been somewhat unkind to science fiction lately. Eleventh Hour is the latest show to get cancelled as reported by Entertainment Weekly columnist Michael Ausiello. I personally am saddened by this devastating news and…no I’m not really, but I’m sure there are the token few fans of the show that are mourning its loss, right? Anyone? Hello?!?

Eleventh Hour was based on a British series and focused on a scientist (Rufus Sewell of Dark City fame) and an FBI agent (Marley Shelton of who the heck knows what) who investigated strange scientific phenomena. What with a fantastic premise like that how did this thing get cancelled?

Cancelled, when? Ah bollocks!

There are more than a “token few fans”. And to answer you question, it was canceled because CBS is a shortsighted network that does not realize the quality show that is just ‘threw away’. The fans do though. And many are just hearing the news for the first time right now. And they are NOT happy.

Many of us have decided to take a stand with this show and appeal to other networks everywhere to put it back on the air where it belongs. If you love Eleventh Hour, please check out this site:

If you have not seen evidence of the huge fan base of Eleventh Hour that is very unhappy about its cancellation, then you haven’t been looking very hard.

If you ask one of the 12 million people that consistantly watched it every week, or one of the thousands of people that sent letters to CBS daily telling them what a great show EH was and to please renew, or one of the people that assumed it would safely return due to the fact that it won its time slot nearly every Thursday night…. I think the answer would be a resounding YES… we are more than unhappy about the cancellation. We also are not just sitting around doing nothing about it.

CBS totally ignored their audience on this one which was a bad move in my opinion.

I as one of the shows MILLIONS of “few token fans” really hope another network is smart and grabs Eleventh Hour!
