wow, best movie ever, i cant believe u guys think it sucks how? great effect but few flaws, like i dont get like y that guy attempted to shoot down the module. and the fact how they evacuated millions of aliens from the craft to the ground

I can’t believe so many people are giving lip service to this piece of crap movie. I did not like it. At all. It was boring, slow to ramp up, and some of the things that happened were beyond unbelievable. Logic had no place in the writing of the script. Why in the hell were they trapped? It never says. Why are some of them bottom feeders and others able to do complex chemistry and electronics work in a shanty? It never says. Why did they put up with their conditions, despite the ability to learn our language and communicate, as well as TRAVEL INTERGALACTICALLY? This movie feels like it was an experiment that was rushed along using generic pieces and parts held together by playbook plot points.

I don’t do theaters anymore but I did buy the DVD and watched the entire movie. I found the “mockumentory” format to be tedious, at best. The acting was memorible only in it’s mediocrity. The CGI and special effects were well done but that doesn’t always make a movie. The socio-political references were very “in your face”, so it was impossible not to recognize it for what it was. I loaned the DVD to a co-worker and told him that if HE liked it he could keep it because it certainly isn’t a movie I’d consider worth watching a second time. Frankly, I’d watch “Dr. Goldfoot and The Girl Bombs” (one of Vincent Price’s lesser known kitchy comedies) or old “U.F.O” reruns before I’d put this in my DVD player again.

I watched the whole movie. and it sucked. a waste of my money. but to each its own i suppose.

I’m sorry folks but this movie really wasn’t very good at all. I would even go so far as to say it sucked. I wanted to like it but it was boring and too far fetched in the possible interactions. I mean c’mon cat food was like crack to them so the gangs were getting rich selling them cat food that can be had at the corner mini mart? wtf? I don’t know where all the good reviews are coming from but this movie blows.

This movie was great , great story , great acting etc , and will probally go down as one of the all time classic SCIFI Movies . If you don’t get this movie I would suggest you go back to watching power rangers which you probably be able to understand with some help from some one explaining the plot to you .
GI joe was watchable but I wouldn’t have paid money to see it and is more of a kids movie compared to this . Personally I found GI Joe a let down to the franchise made but greedy american producers just trying to get some quick bucks with a movie that had a lame story . As been a fan of the GI Joes and reading the comics and having the toys as a kid I felt that movie could have been done a lot better instead of trying to make it too kiddy so they can cash in on the toy and merchandise sale from it with the kids .

As a movie trying to transmit a political message of discrimination, the first 15 minutes are good.

As a sci-fi movie, it sucked. And it is very long, way longer than it could have been.

Its not just a Sci-Fi flick, it has a sociological overtone. If you are one of those yanks without a brain, then I advise you walk out, because you won't understand this. As a South African who grew up during apartheid I can wholly identify with this movie and the characters. As much as I enjoy the mindless mayhem that is Transformers and GI-Joe it was a nice break to have a thinking man's sci-fi flick for a change.
