I read the whole Dune series, and for the most part they were all incredible stories. I have always thought that Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune were books that needed movie counterparts, so hopefully that is something that may evolve out of this remake.<br><br>The acting was superb, and with a list (mostly) of people you had never heard of at the time, it was impressive how well they pulled it off. Even Billy Idol played an acceptable part!<br><br>I even wanted to name my daughter Chani, but the wife vetoed that....surprise!<br><br>The SciFi channel remake wasn't bad either, obviously not as extravagant, but with the progress in CGI it was able to pull off some things that even the original made look a bit hoaky. <br><br>I remember it was the "most expensive science fiction film of all time..." for quite a while.
