Devastator Confirmed for Transformers 2?
Sci-Fi Movie News, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) Movie — By Nix on September 10, 2008 |
Holy shit. Are you kidding me? Devastator has been confirmed for an appearance in “Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen”? Oh … my … friggin … GAWD. There were only rumors in the past, but now Transformers site TFW2005 has confirmed that the Decepticon (or Constructicon), a giant friggin’ robot made up of seven different construction vehicles, will indeed be making an appearance. The site doesn’t exactly say who has “confirmed” the appearance to them, but being that they are a Transformers site, I’m going to assume they have some good sources, and go with them. Hey, even if it turns out not to be true, at least these next few days will have me walking through the world like a giddy schoolboy.
Says TFW2005:
TFW2005 has received confirmation that the combiner Devastator will appear in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The confirmation includes the following details:
- Seven construction vehicles merge to form Devastator
- Devastator has lots of upper body strength, like a gorilla
- Not just green, some of the vehicles are red and yellow
- The previously Long Haul concept art (image to left) by Josh Nizzi is legit
Devastator was one of the best Transformers toys I ever had as a kid. My parents shelled out a ton of bucks for the thing (hey, they were expensive as hell back then), and I played with it until the paint peeled. I was jazzed when I saw the Transformers themselves on the big screen, and now the anticipation to see Devastator will be … God, I’m getting shivers just thinking about it.
Best Transformers news … EVER.

Actually that’s just Long Haul, the dump truck. In the cartoon/toys he formed the waist and chest. So Devastator himself will actually be..four or five times bigger than that.
