Deputized and True Believer Headed to Sci Fi Channel

All hail the Sci Fi Channel! I don’t know what got into these guys, or maybe they’re just getting braver nowadays, but the cable network has a ton of new TV projects coming up, and most of them are just intriguing as hell. Another one of their new backdoor pilot is a TV show based on Rosario Dawson’s comic book “True Believer”, which I’ve never read, but is apparently about a down on his luck superhero, and Deputized, which has “Galaxy Quest” type fun written all over it.
More:
“True Believer” focuses on a comicbook nerd who hires a down-at-heels superhero, the duo pairing up to become crime fighters. Dawson is exec producer, and her co-author on the Image Comics book “Occult Crimes Task Force,” David Atchinson, will write the script of “Believer” with Matthew Spradlin and Tom Feister.
…”Deputized,” a comedy drama about an Everyman who accidentally gets special powers that he uses as a member of an intergalactic police force.
Of the two, I’m definitely looking forwarded to Deputized. If done right, that thing could be a riot. The Rosario Dawson one, eh.
