There’s been a bit of controversy around here lately about my comments regarding the level of quality of the last three “Star Wars” films in comparison to the first three and my point that perhaps the mindset of a Mr. George Lucas was the probable reason things got kind of out of hand.
It all started with George’s interview last week on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I thought George was a bit arrogant. Ok, maybe more than just a little bit. George thought that the reason old fans of the first three movies didn’t like Jar Jar and company was becuase we, the old schoolers, had somehow changed, perhaps even had lost something vital to truely understanding George’s vision. I suggested that perhaps it was really just because the movies sucked. Deadpool, the Marvel character, lately in “Wolverine” and now soon to be a movie franchise of it’s own with Ryan Reynolds as “Deadpool”, sums up my thoughts perfectly in this pretty violent and funny strip.
