David Goyer Takes Over as Showrunner of FlashForward
FlashForward TV Series, Sci-Fi TV News — By Nix on October 21, 2009
I gotta admit, I’m digging ABC’s “FlashForward” a lot more than I thought I would. Sure, it’s still a bit uncomfortable to see Harold of “Harold and Kumar” fame running around with a gun and coming across like a kid playing cops and robbers, but the show just keeps getting more intense with each episode, and the mystery is killing me.
The big news from the set of “FlashForward” is that co-showrunner/executive producer Marc Guggenheim has left the show, leaving the showrunning duties solely to David Goyer. This is apparently not all that big of a deal, since Guggenheim was brought in after the pilot to help Goyer guide the show to where they network wanted it, and now that the show has taken off, Guggenheim’s services are no longer required.
Guggenheim was around for the show’s initial 12-episode run, but won’t be when Goyer takes over the reins for the show’s final 9 episodes (or Back 9, in Hollywood parlance) to finish up the first season.
