David Ayer to Write and Direct Last Man
Last Man Movie, Sci-Fi Movie News — By Nix on March 10, 2009
Now this sounds like a sci-fi movie I can sink my teeth into. In a deal worth seven figures, David Ayer (pictured) has been hired by New Regency and 20th Century Fox to write and direct the sci-fi actioner “Last Man”. If you don’t know the name David Ayer, you’ve probably seen or heard of his past works, which includes “Training Day”, “The Fast and the Furious”, “SWAT”, and more recently, “Street Kings”.
According to Variety, “Last Man” is about a hardened captain assigned to protect an outpost on a distant planet. When trouble shows up, the captain must lead a group of young, inexperienced American soldiers in battle against an alien race. Basically your “last stand” movie with sci-fi elements.
Erwin Stoff, Scott Stuber, and Pam Abdy will produce.
