Area 52 Gets a New Writer
Apparently someone is still trying to get this thing made, which is surprising, I thought everyone had given up on it. Not so, apparently, because Summit has now assigned screenwriter Johnny Rosenthal to bang out a new script for them from scratch. I guess we’re back at square one.
Based on the comic book by Brian Haberlin, “Area 52″ follows “a group of misfit soldiers stationed at a remote military base in Antarctica known as Area 52 that guard a storage facility in which top-secret, other-worldly technologies and weapons are kept and analyzed. A murderous alien, hatched from an artifact, stalks the soldiers, who must defeat it.”
Sounds like fun times.
The original comic books were published back in 2011, but Summit Entertainment picked it up in 2011.
