I couldn’t tell you if Lena Headey’s Madeline “Ma-Ma” Madrigal character in Pete Travis’ upcoming “Dredd” reboot is or isn’t actually in the comic books from which the movie is being based. I’m also not a big fan of a pretty thing like Lena Headey playing the villain in my sci-fi action movies, but hey, maybe it’ll work out. This new pic of Headey in “Dredd” is pretty awesome, though.
The LATimes says more about the movie:
In a world scorched and sickened by radiation wars, Mega City One is one of the last pockets of civilization but it tests the bottom limits of the word. Madrigal is the fierce gang leader who rules Peach Tree City Block and that puts her squarely in the sights of the film’s title character, Judge Joseph Dredd — played by Karl Urban of “Star Trek” and “The Bourne Supremacy” — the most feared of the city’s Street Judges, the elite armored agents who bring the entire criminal justice system to the sidewalk; they are arresting officer, judge, jury and, yes, executioner.
“Dredd” stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Jason Cope, Langley Kirkwood, Kevon Kane, Joe Vaz, Warrick Grier, Scott Sparrow, Luke Tyler, and enforces the law September 21, 2012.
