Charlotte Riley Joins Tom Cruise’s All You Need is Kill
I’m a big fan of Tom Cruise, but not a fan of Tom Cruise as the lead in “All You Need is Kill”, Doug Liman’s upcoming adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s alien bugs killin’ book of the same name. But hey, I guess if you want to make a big-budget sci-fi blockbuster, it’s a smart move to get a big star like Cruise, so I guess I’ll just have to accept all the changes they’ll have to make given Cruise’s age.
Anyways, the latest news on the sci-fi epic has British actress Charlotte Riley joining the cast. She joins Cruise as the hero, a green soldier who begins reliving the same day that he died, eventually growing into a fearsome warrior.
Riley is said to be playing a soldier in the film, though no names were given. She won’t be playing Rita, aka The Valkyrie, though, because that role has gone to Emily Blunt. I haven’t seen Blunt in a lot of action movies, but eh, what the hell, that’s why they call it acting, right?
My guess is, Riley will play Cruise’s other love interest in the book. The one he’s smitten with before he falls for Blunt’s character.
