The SyFy Channel is so pleased with the performance of Warehouse 13 that they have already ordered a second season. Ratings for the show have been that good, and is apparently growing with each new episode.
According to THR’s Live Feed, Warehouse 13 currently averages 4 million viewers per episode when DVR totals are added to the total viewership (no surprise, I DVR the show myself). That’s enough to make Warehouse 13 potentially the most-watched first season on the SyFy Channel.
Warehouse 13, for those unfamiliar with the show, is an X-Files-ish show about two government agents who work for the titular mysterious warehouse. Their job is to hunt down and retrieve (or destroy if they can’t) supernatural and dangerous “artifacts”, which invariably turns out to be cursed items from history.
The show, which has aired 7 episodes so far, co-stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as the bickering but loveable agents, Saul Rubinek as their warehouse boss, lovely ladies Genelle Williams [...]

I don’t plan to cover TV ratings very often, but it’s interesting to see how well (or not so well) some shows did in their premiere. Take SyFy Channel’s debut of Warehouse 13 earlier this week, for instance, which according to THR scored a solid 3.5 million viewers, making it the third best premiere for the cable network after Stargate: Atlantis and Eureka. THR stresses that this is good numbers for the show, which is good news for fans of Warehouse 13. I am one of those people, and will be watching it weekly. In case you missed it, you can read our review of the pilot episode here.

I must admit, I’ve been anxiously awaiting Warehouse 13 from the SyFy Channel. (Yes, the name change is now official. Let’s just get used to it, shall we?) Not because I think the show is going to break the mold, but because, well, it seems like ages since we’ve had a sci-fi show on TV, and Summer is looking bleak as all heck for the genre. So, thankfully Warehouse 13 has arrived last night with a 2-hour pilot episode, and I must admit – better than I expected, but also worst than I expected. What do I mean by that? I liked the characters and the set-up, but the Monster of the Week they chose for the pilot was, shall we say, stunk up the joint.
The show stars Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as Secret Service agents Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering, respectively. After the duo saves the life of the President during a museum visit, they are re-assigned to [...]

Well it’s about time. Mind you, not that I’m crazy excited about the Sci Fi Channel’s new show Warehouse 13, but that Summer has sucked so far, and there hasn’t been anything decent or watchable on TV for the last month and change. My DVR hasn’t been busy at all, except for the occasional episodes of High Stakes Poker. Now, at least, I’ll have something for it to actually record — the two-hour premiere episode of Warehouse 13, which will be the first new show on the first official day for The Sci Fi Channel, now officially changed to the SyFy Channel as of today, Tuesday, July 7th, 2009. Hooray?
Anyways, new promos from the show below. Warehouse 13 stars Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, Genelle Williams, Allison Scagliotti, and CCH Pounder. It’s produced by Farscape mastermind Rockne S. O’Bannon, and word is that the film’s two main characters, originally FBI agents, have been changed to Secret Service agents, probably [...]

Yeah, yeah, I know the Sci Fi Channel’s latest show Warehouse 13 isn’t going to break the bank of creativity, and it’s certainly not going to be as deep or gritty or “real” as Battlestar Galactica. But you know what? I don’t want it to be. There’s plenty of room for BSG-ish shows, and then there are plenty of rooms for Warehouse 13. The show is debuting in July on the Sci Fi Channel, and will star Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as FBI agents assigned to a super secret warehouse in the middle of nowhere in charge of guarding a warehouse full of strange, paranormal artifacts. Basically, “The X-Files” meets, well, a goofier version of “The X-Files”.
After saving the life of the President, two Secret Service agents find themselves abruptly transferred to Warehouse 13 — a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota that houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by [...]

He’s the most loosey goosey G-man in the history of G-men, and she’s the serious but so totally hot by-the-book G-lady. Together they’re glorified security guards for America’s “attic” — aka Warehouse 13. Obviously I know what you’re thinking: “What, another X-Files clone?” I wouldn’t blame you. After seeing the promo video, it actually looks even MORE like an X-Files clone — minus the mutated monsters, I mean. And yet …
The show will star Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as the two FBI agents who are assigned to a warehouse in the middle of South Dakota (that’s a new one). They go to work under Saul Rubinek, and apparently CCH Pounder shows up every now and then to lend moral support. Or make epic statements. Probably both. The show has the two feds going out each week to capture “unexplained” things like killer combs (?) and, well, that’s really all I could surmise from the trailer. It looks like clean [...]

“Warehouse 13″ is a new SyFy Network show about a couple of agents transferred to a big warehouse in the lovely, but city sparse, South Dakota. There in the badlands they find that this warehouse is the resting place of every creepy, alien or supernatural artifact ever collected by the United States Government.
Think Raiders of the Lost Ark or the Crystal Skull warehouse and I think you get a hint about what a great idea this was for a series. I myself gave a show like this some passing thought years ago. Just imagine the creative possibilities. If this show is well written at all and the actors decent ,there is simply no end to the story possibilities. Every rattling, glowing, squeaking or dusty box could have an amazing mystery tied to it. I just saw Raiders again recently and at the end, as you remember fondly, when the camera pulled back to look at all those crates where the [...]

Here’s your first and very brief look at the Sci Fi Channel’s new TV show, Warehouse 13. It’s a paranormal show in the vein of The X-Files. Oh, who are we kidding. It’s basically an X-Files copycat for the new millennium. Which is kind of odd when you think about it: the X-Files just tried to be the X-Files for the new millennium with a movie, and no one was buying. So are they going to buy an X-Files clone when they aren’t even going for the original? We shall see, I guess.
The show is scheduled to premiere this Summer, and follows two FBI agents who are assigned to work in a mysterious warehouse where everything that is unknown and strange are kept. I’m hoping it’ll have a dash of humor ala Special Unit 2, which was itself an X-Files clone, albeit a much more campy one.

Okay, so I’ve been hearing about this new show Warehouse 13 for a while now, and I’ve been writing about it, but I have yet to actually see an episode of this thing. From what I’m hearing (they’re calling it a “dramedy” now), it sounds very much like a new, 2008 version of the short-lived UPN X-Files clone Special Unit 2. If that is indeed true, then yeah, I’m going to like this, as I was a fan (maybe the only one?) of SU2’s unique brand of wacky humor, barely credible storylines, and just general hijinx that requires, first and foremost, a major suspension in disbelief to enjoy. Warehouse 13 seems to be something like that. Maybe.
THR has news on the show being picked up for a series by the Sci Fi Channel:
The hourlong dramedy, from Universal Cable Studios, is described as part “X-Files,” part “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and part “Moonlighting.”
It revolves around two FBI agents — rule-bender [...]

The Sci Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica prequel series Caprica keeps on rolling, with more casting news. The latest addition to the show is Polly Walker, who has joined the show’s two-hour premiere as Sister Clarice Willow, whose character is described as “the gracious, eloquent and duplicitous high priestess and headmistress of the Athena Academy, a private religious school.” Yup, sounds like Ron Moore, alright.
Speaking of BSG, Starbuck herself, Katee Sackhoff, will be broadening her horizons with a multi-arc stint on the FX show Nip/Tuck. She’ll play a doctor named Theodora “Teddy” Lowe on the show, and will appear in four episodes.
Over at the Sci Fi Channel’s other new series, Warehouse 13, Saul Rubinek has joined the cast as a Secret Service agent named Artie Nielsen, who is in charge of the warehouse where much of the film’s paranormal storylines will originate from.
Casting news from The Hollywood Reporter.

Two casting notices for fans of sci-fi TV today (not particularly promising sci-fi, alas), both for shows from the Sci Fi Channel. The first involves the two leads of the channel’s X-Files knock-off Warehouse 13, which has cast Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as the Mulder and Scully, respectively, of the show. Meanwhile, Ron Moore’s Battlestar Galactica prequel, Caprica, has also landed its leading lady in Paula Malcomson.
The Hollywood Reporter has the casting breakdowns:
“Warehouse,” from UMS, revolves around two FBI agents — by-the-book Myka (Kelly) and rule-bender Peter (McClintock) — who, after saving the life of the U.S. president, are relocated to Warehouse 13, a location that houses supernatural objects the government has collected over the centuries. The duo’s assignment is to retrieve missing objects and investigate reports of new ones.
Paula Malcomson has been cast as the female lead in “Caprica,” Sci Fi’s prequel to “Battlestar Galactica.” Malcomson (”Deadwood”) will play Amanda, a surgeon who works as a double agent.
