The animated steampunk adventure “War of the Worlds: Goliath” comes from “Highlander” creator David Abramowitz, who writes the script, and features a cast that includes Peter Wingfield, Adam Baldwin, Elizabeth Gracen, Jim Byrnes, and Adrian Paul. Yup, lots of “Highlander” folks in the cast. Check out the extended trailer for “Goliath” below and be blown away by all the crazy steampunk awesomeness (via Quiet Earth). Originally slated for 2010, the film has now been rescheduled for 2012 on DVD. Not sure exactly when, though, so keep an eye out.

In the H.G. Wells original story, Martians spy on the Earth and find it ripe for the picking. They strike at the Earth, finding us humans to be weak and easy prey. They forget just one thing. It’s flu season.
