I have to admit, “Transformers” producer Don Murphy is probably the only Hollywood producer I’ve heard of who actually participates in forums on his own site about his own movies. I’ve heard of directors doing this to get “in touch” with the fans, but producers are usually so high-falutin’ and snobbish, so much props to Murphy for his site. In any case, in one of his posts (here), Murphy links to a blog that reveals the title of TF2 to be “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”. Murphy simply links to the site, and doesn’t say anything else, which would seem to mean it’s true — or false?

Apparently there were a whole lot of geeks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania who knew that Michael Bay and crew were filming “Transformers 2″ over in their little city, and they were out and about in force with digital cameras snapping way. God, I love my fellow movie geeks. As a result of all the snapping, pictures from TF2’s PA sets (said to be the opening sequence in the movie) have popped up all over the Internet. Unfortunately none of those geeks with digital cameras sent any pics my way, but I ain’t hatin’. Head on below to get your feel of TF2 set pics.

According to MTV, British actor Matthew Marsden (pictured, left) has joined the cast of Michael Bay’s “Transformers 2″, and will be playing a British Special Forces character named Graham. Does this mean the battle with the Decepticons will be heading Across the Pond, or will the British invade our soil once again? Okay, so the former is probably more likely.

Does Michael Bay plan to jam 20 robots into “Transformers 2″? Maybe, according to the movie’s writer, Roberto Orci, who made a little post over at producer Don Murphy’s message board that read: “I’d love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting.” That brief tidbit has gotten the Internet all in aflutter, and everyone is now posting the “20 robots in Transformers 2″ bit, which I am now following suit, as, well, it would suck if I missed out on it, even if it turns out to be nothing.

In an article about The Office’s Rainn Wilson joining the cast of Michael Bay’s “Transformers 2″ as Sam Witwicky’s narcissistic college professor (reported here and elsewhere yesterday, by the way, ahem), The Hollywood Reporter also mentions that Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro have all returned for the sequel. But wait — did they really? If I read the article correctly, it seemed as if the trade was just assuming they would be back. Granted, they would be foolish not to return, but nothing I’ve read has mentioned that Megan Fox’s character would even BE in the sequel.

With a first name like “Rainn”, you gotta know that this guy’s parents grew up hippies and probably lived in communes in San Francisco somewhere. In any case, Rainn Wilson is one of the stars of NBC’s The Office, where he plays Dwight Schrute. I’ve never seen The Office, although I hear it’s funny, but everything I’ve seen about it doesn’t look all that funny. In fact, the show looks painfully unfunny, but hey, what do I know. Then again, it was funny enough to get Wilson a role in “Transformers 2″.

Yes, that’s right. We’re so psyched for Michael Bay’s “Transformers 2″ that we’re even posting casting calls looking for people with SAG membership and who can pass for college co-eds. What, you got something better to do with your time? Here’s the casting call sheet with descriptions of what they’re looking for. Apparently “party pictures holding a beer” is not welcome. What’s that about?

Seriously, what kind of idiot do you have to be, or have as your management, to allow negotiations to join an uber movie like “Transformers 2″ to “break down”? That’s exactly what happened with actor Jonah Hill, aka the fat kid sidekick with the curly hair, who was recently in talks to join Michael Bay’s massive sequel. What happened, did he demand more than his current status in Hollywood could afford?

With production on “Transformers 2″ gearing up for a June start, the casting is coming fast and furious. Previously, we reported that “Superbad” star Jonah Hill would be playing Sam Witwicky’s college roommate and comic foil, and now we have news that Australian actress Teresa Palmer has been cast in the movie. Palmer’s past film credits include “The Grudge 2″, and more recently, she was one of the unknowns cast in the now-defunct “Justice League of America” movie.

Who is Jonah Hill? If you’ve seen any of Judd Apatow’s raunchy comedies, Jonah Hill inevitably plays the fat kid with the fritzy hair. See picture to your left. Yeah, that’s him. Now it appears as if Hill will be graduating from comedies to co-starring in Michael Bay’s “Transformers 2″, playing the college roommate/comic relief to Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky, who, it was recently revealed, will be attending Princeton in the sequel.
