According to a press release from Marvel studios, Natalie Portman will play Jane Foster in Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor”. The addition of the character Jane Foster means that our new Thor will be a return to the old school Thor. Back in the day, the Marvel comic partly focused on Thor’s human alter ego, Dr. Donald Blake. The good doctor was physically challenged and got about with the use of cane that would change into Mjolnir, Thor’s big hammer.

More Thor and Paul Castings Revealed
Now there’s a great movie title. The Mighty Paul! “Thor” swings his heavy hammer Mjolnir into theatres in 2011, bringing the thunder and lightning down on his evil brother Loki and his godly minions. In casting news, Brian Blessed is rumoured to have been cast as Thor’s dad Odin, the All Father, Lord of the Aesir, Burden of Gunnlöð’s Arms and Swinger of Gungnir. James Kirk’s Dad Will Stand Tall And Blond As Thor
Chris Hemsworth, an Australian lad last seen as James T. Kirks doomed dad in “Star Trek” has been cast as the mighty “Thor” in the Kenneth Branagh directed film being made for Marvel Studios. Chris beat out fan favorite Alexander Skarsgard, of True Blood and Generation Kill fame for the part of the thunder god and wielder of the heavy hammer Mjolnir.
