Shocker! Another Robert Rodriguez-Hyped Movie Falls by the Wayside

Look, folks, it’s not that I like to bash Robert Rodriguez, it’s just that, well, it’s fun to remind people that Rodriguez is one of those very enthusiastic kids who declares he’s going to do this and that, but ends up not doing either this or that. It’s that bundle of enthusiasm that pushed him to make his “El Mariachi”, the famous “shot for $7,000 film” that went on to make millions and made Rodriguez a hero to garage filmmakers everywhere. Robert Rodriquez Gives Us An Update On His Sci-Fi Projects

Robert Rodriquez is a hard guy to pin down. Lots of shiny little stories catch his eye. He seems just about to put a script to screen when something else will capture his attention and off he’ll go. Robert just finished or is finishing “Predators”, directed by Nimród Antal and is now leafing through his prospects to see what’s down the line for him.

Robert Rodriquez Moves On From The Jetsons

the_jetsonsRobert Rodriquez has apparently found other shiny little movie trinkets to capture his eye and has left the remake of the 60′s Sci-Fi cartoon “The Jetsons” to other interested parties. And it seems that the interested party is Peter Segal, the director of “Get Smart” and “Tommy Boy”.

Robert Rodriguez Reboots The Jetsons

Robert Rodriquez is a busy guy. Or a big dreamer. I’m not sure which at this point. On the development fire at camp Rodriguez is Predators, a Blade Runnerish Sci-Fi called Nerverackers, a Sin City sequel and something more in the Grindhouse vein. Add to this really big list of possibilities is a rebooted version of 60′s cartoon The Jetsons.
