Did you missed the TV spots for “Battleship”, “John Carter”, and other sci-fi films during the Super Bowl this Sunday? Hey, I can see that happening. What with the game going on, the running to the bathrooms between punts, the eating your brains out, the getting all bloated from all the eating and sitting on the coach and then having to run to the bathroom. It’s a vicious cycle, to be sure. Thankfully for you, we have those TV spots below.
“Hunger Games” fans rejoice, today brings you an obscene amount of “Hunger Games” stuff. First of, there’s that new pic of Lenny Kravitz and Jennifer Lawrence from the film below. If you’ve read the Suzanne Collins books, then you know that Kravitz’s Cinna figures prominently into the female lead’s preparations to surviving the Games. Hard to believe, but yes, “Hunger Games” fans, the first movie based on the Suzanne Collins trilogy of novels will be heading to a theater near you in March. Until then, check out a new image (above) and this news that a writer has officially been hired to pen the second film in the series, “Catching Fire”.
Sprinkled liberally among their coverage of the upcoming films of 2012, the LATimes also featured a couple of sci-fi films of note, including new images for “Men in Black 3″ starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, as well as “The Hunger Games”, featuring what appears to be a meeting with Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Jennifer Lawrence. I think you can also catch a body part from Josh Hutcherson in the photo, but don’t hold me to it.

Gary Ross’ games begin March 23, 2012, but until then, check out five new images the studio has released for the upcoming adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ “The Hunger Games”.
Fans of Suzanne Collins’ novels should really like this first full theatrical trailer for Gary Ross’ “The Hunger Games”. First of all, Jennifer Lawrence is just looking so good as Katniss, and from what I can see, the movie seems to be very faithful to the original source novel. Which is a good thing in my book. Take a look at the trailer below.
If you’ve read the Suzanne Collins novels that “The Hunger Games” will be based on, then you already know that heroine Katnis Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the Gary Ross-directed trilogy) can be pretty badass when she needs to be. She’s a tough gal who rarely lets her emotions get the best of her, and she’s quite handy with that bow and arrow. Here’s a new pic from the movie showing that Lawrence looks mighty at home shooting that traditional bow.
When you think sci-fi dystopian society, you of course think … Vanity Fair? Sure, why not. The magazine recently gathered up the kids of Gary Ross’ upcoming “The Hunger Games” and had them stand around posing for pictures. You can see the results below.
Eight whopping character posters for Lionsgate’s upcoming sure-to-be spectacular “The Hunger Games” franchise. That is, unless Gary Ross royally screws it up, then I take back my sure-to-be spectacular comment. I don’t think so, though. Gary Ross is one hell of a good director. Great, even.
I know I shouldn’t be excited about “The Hunger Games”. I mean, it’s based on a young adult series of books, and I’m way too cool for things based on YA books. Right? Probably, but I don’t care. I kinda really want to see this thing. The fact that Gary Ross is directing is the cherry on the whatever it is cherries are put on top of to make them even better.
I’m still not sure how sci-fi this movie is going to be. If they follow the book, it should be reasonably sci-fi, with invisible cameras, crazy hybrid creatures, and invisible jets and ships and what have you. Whatever the case, here’s your first teaser trailer for “The Hunger Games”. See? You didn’t even have to watch the MTShitty Video Awards to see it, too.
