NOW it’s Official: Bionic Woman is Cancelled

Well this kinda sucks. While I wasn’t instantly enamored with the new Bionic Woman when I first saw it, and indeed, I missed the next couple of episodes, I thought it had potential. Well nevermind that now, because even though we reported that the show was cancelled a while back, the show’s producer David Eick has now officially confirmed to Sci Fi Wire that Bionic Woman is, indeed, done. Although, curiously, NBC still hasn’t said a word about it. Kinda cruel of them, don’t you think, dangling the fans along like this?

It’s Almost Official: Bionic Woman is Cancelled

After months of speculation, it seems very official (though not quite yet; NBC itself is still keeping mum) that Michelle Ryan’s The Bionic Woman update has been cancelled. At least, that’s according to TV Guide, who quotes sources within the network. The only thing that’s left is for NBC to confirm it, and to be honest, it’s silly that they simply refused to, when everyone already knows it.

The Bionic Woman has NOT Been Cancelled

At least not yet, according to NBC, who told TVGuide that the show has not been cancelled, but has merely gone on hiatus due to not having any scripts to shoot because of the ongoing Writer’s Strike. Of course, NBC doesn’t say what will happen once the show finishes up its initial 13-episode order, including an expected 2-episode relaunch of the show in January 2008.

Bionic Woman Has Been Cancelled?

That’s the rumor floating around the ‘net in recent days: that NBC has decided to ax it’s troubled Bionic Woman TV series. The show, an “update” of the classic TV series of the same name, starred British actress Michelle Ryan as a young woman who becomes bionic after a brutal car accident, and is recruited by government forces to fight evil. The show has had a long history of creative problems among its staff, and with declining ratings… Well, is it over for the Bionic Woman?

Katee Sackhoff to have Recurring Role in New Bionic Woman

Everyone who has seen promos for NBC’s upcoming remake of the “Bionic Woman” series knows that Katee Sackhoff plays a former Bionic Woman who has gone bad, and is now the main nemesis for young Michelle Ryan’s new Bionic Woman character. But how many episodes will Sackhoff be in? According to the Hollywood Reporter, it’s going to be quite a bit, because Sackhoff has just inked a deal with NBC to make her character a recurring character on the show, a stint made easier since both “Bionic Woman” and Sackhoff’s other show, “Battlestar Galactica” shoots up North in Canada.
